You don’t need much to get started. A rough floor plan or room dimensions, a description of the type of work the lab will be used for, and a general sense of which products you need (countertops, cabinetry, fume hoods, storage, seating) is enough to begin the design process. If you have existing plumbing, gas, or electrical layouts, those are helpful but not required at this stage. Norlab’s team works through the details with you — you don’t need to arrive with a finished specification.

Yes. All laboratory furniture designed and manufactured by Norlab Furniture LLC is built to meet applicable safety and performance standards, including OSHA workplace safety requirements, SEFA (Scientific Equipment and Furniture Association) standards for lab casework and countertops, and NFPA guidelines for chemical storage and fire safety.
Compliance documentation is part of the project delivery, not an add-on. If your facility is subject to additional regulatory requirements — FDA, EPA, DEA, or institutional biosafety standards — those are discussed during the design phase and built into the specification.
Most projects follow this timeline: 1 to 2 weeks for the initial design and 3D layout review, 4 to 8 weeks for manufacturing depending on scope and materials, and 1 to 2 weeks for delivery and installation. Complex projects — multi-room builds, container labs, or facilities with extensive service integration — may run longer. Our team manages the full setup at your facility. You don’t need to source or manage a separate installer. Installation excludes rough construction, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work — we’ll tell you exactly what needs to be in place before we arrive so there are no surprises on install day.
Norlab Furniture LLC offers an extended warranty of two years on all products, starting from the supply date indicated on the label affixed to the underside of the furniture. During the first six months, all replacement parts will be provided free of charge, including packaging and shipping costs.
