• The Challenge
One of the main challenges of the holcim laboratory project was designing a space capable of supporting heavy duty material testing while maintaining durability, organization, and operational efficiency. Laboratories in the construction industry must handle abrasive materials, continuous sample processing, and frequent equipment use. Ensuring stable work areas, clear workflows, and resistance to wear was essential. The environment also needed to support precise testing processes without interruptions, while maintaining order and consistency under constant operational demand.

To address these requirements, the holcim laboratory was developed using materials selected for strength, durability, and long term industrial performance. The workstations were built with ceramic countertops, providing highly resistant surfaces capable of withstanding abrasive materials and intensive use. metal cabinets was incorporated to ensure secure and organized storage for tools and samples, while laboratory chairs supported operator comfort during extended testing periods. Additionally, shelving storage was integrated to optimize organization and improve accessibility within the workspace.
