• Project Overview
The UTEC laboratory project focused on developing a modern educational laboratory environment for the University of Engineering and Technology. Delivered in August 2025, the objective was to create a space that supports engineering education, practical experimentation, and daily student use. The UTEC laboratory required a flexible and well organized layout capable of accommodating multiple users while supporting hands on learning. The environment was designed to balance durability and functionality, providing a professional setting that enhances technical training and supports consistent academic activities.
• The Challenge
One of the main challenges of the UTEC laboratory project was designing a space capable of supporting intensive academic use while maintaining organization and durability. Educational laboratories in engineering environments require materials that can withstand frequent handling, equipment use, and constant student interaction. Ensuring efficient circulation, clearly defined work areas, and accessible storage was essential. The laboratory also needed to support both guided instruction and independent work while maintaining a structured environment that promotes productivity and minimizes operational disruptions.
• Our Approach
To address these requirements, the UTEC laboratory was developed using materials selected for durability and academic performance. The workstations were built with phenolic countertops, providing resistant and long lasting surfaces suitable for technical activities. phenolic cabinets was incorporated to ensure consistent durability and organized storage throughout the space. laboratory chairs were selected to provide ergonomic support during extended sessions, while shelving storage systems were integrated to improve organization and allow easy access to tools, materials, and equipment used in daily laboratory activities.
• The Result
The completed UTEC laboratory now provides a reliable and efficient environment tailored for engineering education and practical training. With durable surfaces, organized storage systems, and a flexible layout, the laboratory supports both teaching and hands on experimentation. The space allows students and instructors to operate efficiently within a structured environment that promotes organization, consistency, and performance, ensuring the laboratory can handle continuous academic use while maintaining a professional and well equipped educational setting.
