• The Challenge
One of the main challenges of the zijin laboratory project was designing a space capable of supporting heavy duty testing processes while maintaining safety, durability, and organization. Mining laboratories must handle abrasive materials, chemical exposure, and continuous sample processing. Ensuring proper ventilation, safe workflows, and resistant work surfaces was essential to maintain productivity and protect personnel. The laboratory also needed to support consistent analysis while minimizing operational risks and maintaining structured processes across all activities.

To address these requirements, the zijin laboratory was developed using materials and equipment selected for resistance, safety, and industrial performance. The workstations were built with phenolic countertops, providing durable and chemical resistant surfaces suitable for mining applications. metal cabinets was incorporated to ensure secure and organized storage, while fume hoods were integrated to provide proper ventilation during testing processes. Additionally, emergency showers were included to enhance safety and ensure immediate response capability in case of exposure to hazardous materials.
